A complete e-commerce solution built for MyPetShop.bg, a Bulgarian online pet store with over 10 years of experience in the local market. The project was developed on the latest version of nopCommerce, customized to reflect the brand's friendly, pet-loving identity and to support the wide variety of product categories typical of a pet retail business.
A fully custom theme was built from the ground up, giving the store a warm, welcoming look with playful visuals of pets across every key section. The platform was tailored to handle a diverse product catalog spanning food, accessories, and specialized items for dogs, cats, rodents, birds, fish, and reptiles, while keeping the shopping experience simple and intuitive for everyday users.
The homepage was designed as a true discovery hub, combining a promotional hero banner, brand value propositions (order tracking, 14-day returns, premium products, free shipping over €100, 10 years of online experience, safe browsing, and secure payments), and curated product blocks for each main animal category. A featured brands carousel at the bottom highlights the store's partnerships with leading pet-industry names.
The result is a modern, category-rich online pet store that combines the flexibility of nopCommerce with a tailored customer experience — supporting MyPetShop.bg's mission to be a trusted one-stop shop for pet owners in Bulgaria.
The homepage serves as the main entry point to the MyPetShop.bg online store, introducing the brand and guiding visitors toward product discovery. It opens with a promotional hero banner announcing the new website with a site-wide discount, immediately setting a friendly, engaging tone supported by imagery of cats and dogs.
A top navigation with a categories dropdown (dogs, cats, rodents, birds, fish, reptiles, promotions) gives customers instant access to every section of the catalog. Below the hero, a row of trust badges highlights the store's key value propositions — order tracking, 14-day returns, premium products, free shipping over €100, 10 years of online experience, safe browsing, and secure payments.
The main body of the page is organized into dedicated blocks for each animal category (Dogs, Cats, Rodents, Birds, Fish, Reptiles), each featuring a large lifestyle image and a curated selection of products with toggles for "New" and "Best-Selling" items. This makes it easy for customers to jump straight to the section that matches their pet.

The catalog page is the main product discovery screen of the online store, presenting products in a clean five-column grid with clear product images, names, descriptions, and pricing that shows both the original and discounted price. Each product card includes a quick "Buy" action on hover, supporting fast add-to-cart behavior.
A comprehensive filter sidebar lets shoppers refine the catalog by manufacturer, age (puppy, adult), specific needs (outdoor lifestyle, joint issues, digestive problems), size (small, medium, large breeds), breed, flavour, and colour — a filtering system tailored to the specific attributes that matter when choosing pet products. A category tree below the filters groups products into logical subcategories (dry food, canned food, treats, beds, houses, bags, transport cages, leashes, health and grooming, toys, clothing, training, bowls), making it easy to navigate within a single animal type.
The top of the page includes breadcrumbs, sort options, and results-per-page controls, while pagination at the bottom allows easy browsing through large collections. Below the product grid, an SEO-optimized informational section explains the category, offers buying guidance, and helps both customers and search engines understand the content — turning the catalog page into both a shopping and educational resource.
The mega menu is a full-width navigation panel that opens from the "Categories" button, giving customers instant access to the entire catalog structure at a glance. Main animal categories (dogs, cats, rodents, birds, fish, reptiles, promotions) are listed on the left, while the expanded panel on the right displays all subcategories grouped by theme — food, transport, leashes, grooming, toys, and clothing — each with their own detailed sub-items.
This structure turns a complex product tree into a clear, scannable layout, letting users jump directly to a specific subcategory without navigating through multiple pages.
The product detail page gives customers all the information needed to confidently purchase a product. A large product image on the left is paired with the full product name, rating, short description, manufacturer link, and SKU on the right. Pricing is displayed with both the original and discounted price, alongside a quantity selector, a prominent "Buy" call-to-action, and an "Add to favourites" option.
Below the main section, a row of trust badges reinforces key value propositions (order check, 14-day returns, premium products, free shipping over €100, 10 years of experience, safe browsing, secure payments). Tabbed navigation organizes additional content into Description, Specifications, Reviews, and Contacts, keeping the page clean while giving access to detailed product information.
The page closes with a "Similar Products" carousel, helping customers discover alternatives and encouraging further browsing — turning each product page into both an informational resource and a cross-sell opportunity.
